Curriculum and Curriculum Revision

 

Since the establishment of the college in January 2006, the Command and Staff College has incorporated new developments and trends in the field and emerging institutional interests into its education and training process by periodically revising its curriculum.

1. PSC Curriculum

PSC curriculum is the main program of the college and it has the potential to enable the College to discharge its mission by producing mission-oriented professional higher officers who would assume military leadership roles in the different units and staff positions of the Ethiopian Defense Forces. This program is offered both in Amharic and English languages.

2. MA program parallel to PSC

The College has also gone through changes in developing and improving the curriculum to satisfy the needs of MoND. Given the ever-changing security environment, the transformation of defense forces, and advances in military affairs, introduce advanced studies into the military is crucial. Therefore, MoND is determined to upgrade the educational program of DCSC by offering a one-year and two months MA degree program in military science and leadership parallel to the PSC program.

3. Short Course program፡-

Short course program focuses on student officer’s actual combat experience sharing by offering selected courses such as military operations and tactics, military leadership, combat support and combat service support operation in order to enhance student officers’ skills, in planning, leading and controlling tactical level operations

4. Refreshment Course program 

This course program is designed to refresh former graduates of the college with a new development in the security environment. Moreover, the course facilitates the graduates to share their experiences they acquired during their leadership endeavor in pace and war.
